New Harry Connick Jr. CD Review

Harry Connick Jr - Your Songs (300 x 300)

I was recently given the opportunity by One2One Network to review Harry Connick Jr.'s new CD, Your Songs before it hit store shelves. I've actually had the CD since the 19th of September, but I've been so busy enjoying it I haven't wanted to stop listening to it to type out this review! :)

I absolutely love Harry Connick Jr. I fell in love with his music way back in 1989 when I first heard the soundtrack for the movie When Harry Met Sally. He is a master of the piano, and his voice is absolutely incredible. This new CD proves Connick still has the same skills 20 years after he first got me to love his music.

Done in typical Connick swing/jazz style, Your Songs contains 14 classic songs from some of the greatest musicians of all time. From Billy Joel's "Just the Way you Are" and Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa", to Elvis Presley's "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" and The Carpenter's "Close to You", Connick again turns out a beautifully done album. The minute the full orchestra came in on the first song "All the Way", I was transfixed. When he started singing in Spanish during "Besame Mucho", I hung on every word (even though I was unable to translate fast enough). :) This album is absolutely perfect.

If you're a Harry Connick Jr. fan, I'd suggest getting Your Songs as soon as possible. It's totally worth it!
