Waterpik Easy Select Showerhead Review

Who remembers the Waterpik toothbrushes from the 80's? I recall that thing being the be all, end all in the toothbrushing world. I loved it!

I was crushed when my dad got rid of it, and I hadn't really heard much about Waterpik for years. That all changed recently when I was sent the new Waterpik Easy Select 5 Mode shower head to try and review.

Mr. Frog installed the shower head while I was out of the house, but when asked he said it was really easy to install and he had no problems. (It's designed to install easily on any standard shower arm with no need for pipe tape.) Here's how it looks in my shower:

As you can clearly see, it is a very big shower head. Because of how long the handle and head piece is, it is also very high in the air. (For reference, the first picture is accurate on how close the head is to the ceiling of my bathroom. Obviously the bar is where the shower curtain hangs.) The height of it is the only real drawback to the awesomeness of this shower head.

As it sounds, the Easy Select 5 Mode has 5 custom spray settings to help make your shower the most relaxing it can be. Here are some shots of each spray. Click to make them bigger.

Here you see the full body spray and the circular massage settings. We tend to keep it on the full body spray most of the time. That setting hits all the right spots and isn't too forceful. The circular massage setting is crazy cool. The middle piece rotates is one direction while the water rotates in the opposite direction. This setting feels great on your back after a long day.

These are the powerspray and the mist settings. K LOVES the mist setting. She stands under it and sings CarWash at the top of her lungs. It feels just like I'm sure the mist setting at the car wash does. It's light and airy. The powerspray hurts. That sucker is hard and powerful. It lives up to it's name.

Finally there is the water saver setting. If you're going green and into water conservation, this is the shower head and setting for you! Not to mention that all Waterpik brand shower heads are equipped with an OptiFLOW regulator that limits maxinum water flow to 2.5 gallons per minute at 80 psi (as mandated by U.S. federal law).

I really enjoy using this shower head every day. Changing the settings is quick and easy with the spray selector located on the handle (the black dial in the pictures). One little click and I'm either enjoying the nice circular massage or singing CarWash at the top of my lungs. (Admit it, you would too!) The 5-foot hose makes it just as easy to bring the shower head down to K's level so the water isn't falling right into her eyes.

The Waterpik Easy Select Showerhead can be found nationwide at Home Depot. It retails for $59.99.
